Big Black Dog is a local area band that barks out a broad range of blues standards and blues-inspired country and rock. Their unique arrangements will have you digging out those great albums you forgot you had buried away!

No strangers to the Orangeville music scene, the band includes Mark Ostrowski on guitar, Greg Maslen on guitar, Nelson Sleno on harmonica, Donato Scipione on bass and Ian McCreath on drums. These dogs have been playing together and separately in various collaborations for several years.
Come and howl with Big Black Dog as they unleash their sound with covers from JJ Cale to Muddy Waters. Make sure you catch this act or risk ending up in the dog house!

From legendary Canadian bands such as Big Wreck, Our Lady Peace, and The Tragically Hip, to Americain giants like Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots, Little Current will have you nostalgic for the glory days of the 90’s rock scene.

From early childhood Nicole knew music was her future. In addition to piano, she has mastered many instruments which include the guitar, drums, trumpet and fiddle. Nicole’s engagements include opening for Jack De Keyzer, multiple appearances at the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival in addition to performing an original (Down by the River) with Larry Kurtz and the Lawbreakers on the Main stage. She has performed throughout Caledon and Orangeville as well competing in Rising Stars at the CNE, and finished in the top 10 at the Rising Star competition at the Chin Picnic.

Nicole’s music is raw honest always real as she says “I don’t go for a trendy approach. What I do is blues!”. The influences for her music include Memphis Minnie Blind Willie McTell as well as Sam Cooke and many others.

Orangeville Community Band @ Broadway Ramble

The Orangeville Community Band is a concert band with a community focus, and is a registered charity. It exists to provide musical enjoyment and skill development to the membership and quality performances for Orangeville and the surrounding areas. It provides educational programs and mentoring for youth and culturally enriching performances for seniors and the greater community. The Band includes people from a variety of skills levels and is intended to provide enjoyment of Community and Music for all who hear and all who participate. The group usually showcases up to fifty performers, and performs many genres of Music.

The Band began in September 2007 under the direction of John Wervers. The band has also been directed by Doug McIlwain, and the current Musical Director is Joy Spencer. In the past few years the band has served the Headwaters community through a wide variety of music & venues: Remembrance Day, Christmas, Seniors centers, Education Concerts – festivals for youth, Orangeville Mall, Farmer’s Market and Rec centre pop-up concerts, Community Living, Blast at Island Lake, and the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival.
Recent concert themes include “Dancing with the Band” where the audience learned to dance with the band, and “Awakening Musical Adventure”, where the audience had the opportunity to participate in an arts competition during the concert.

Celebrating 40 Years! Orangeville Music Theatre (OMT) is a non-profit amateur theatre group that was founded in 1978, OMT now produces 4 shows per year at the Opera House, which includes 2 youth shows and 2 Adult main stage shows. OMT continues to receive outstanding reviews for their high caliber productions.

Some of OMT’s past shows have been GUYS & DOLLS, OKLAHOMA!, ANYTHING GOES, CRAZY FOR YOU, THE PAJAMA GAME, KISS ME KATE, COPACABANA, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, NUNSENSE, OLIVER, ANNIE, HOMECHILD THE MUSICAL, SHREK, GREASE, THE LITTLE MERMAID, ALL SHOOK UP, MY FAIR LADY!

The Robert F Hall Jazz Band, comprised of passionate, dedicated young Jazz musicians is thrilled to be playing this year’s festival once again. Hot off the heals of their 3 day, 7 gig playing tour of the Ottawa area, this year’s 13 piece band is ready to swing. Band leader and high school Music teacher Mr. Frank Adriano is extremely proud of this band’s accomplishments to date. Their repertoire spans the Swing sounds of the 40s through to the Jazz Funk fusion of the 70s with plenty of the spontaneous composition we call improvisation. Band members include: Nick Mustapha, Mark Strachan, Ethan Bhatti, Gurpreet Brar, Isaiah Gogol, Juliano Maglio, Jacob Masih, Jacob McGarrity, Xavier Leahy, Franco Palacios, Peter Zarzecki, Kyle Shoesmith.
